Caring for Your Teak
CARE ROUTINE
The Basics of Care
Daily Cleaning
Wash with warm water and a neutral soap right after use. Dry with a soft towel β don't let water sit on the surface.
π‘ Avoid soaking the wood for more than 30 seconds.
Regular Conditioning
Apply a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil to the entire surface. Let it absorb for 30 minutes, then wipe away any excess.
π‘ Once a month for the first year, then every 2β3 months.
Natural Deodorizing
Gently scrub the surface with coarse salt and lemon juice, let sit for 5 minutes, then rinse clean. This restores the wood's natural scent.
π‘ Use whenever the wood starts to hold onto food odors.
Removing Light Scratches
Sand gently with fine-grit sandpaper, following the direction of the grain, then re-oil the surface. Light scratches will disappear completely.
π‘ Always sand with the grain, never against it.
