Caring for Your Teak

The Basics of Care

1

Daily Cleaning

Wash with warm water and a neutral soap right after use. Dry with a soft towel β€” don't let water sit on the surface.

πŸ’‘ Avoid soaking the wood for more than 30 seconds.

2

Regular Conditioning

Apply a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil to the entire surface. Let it absorb for 30 minutes, then wipe away any excess.

πŸ’‘ Once a month for the first year, then every 2–3 months.

3

Natural Deodorizing

Gently scrub the surface with coarse salt and lemon juice, let sit for 5 minutes, then rinse clean. This restores the wood's natural scent.

πŸ’‘ Use whenever the wood starts to hold onto food odors.

4

Removing Light Scratches

Sand gently with fine-grit sandpaper, following the direction of the grain, then re-oil the surface. Light scratches will disappear completely.

πŸ’‘ Always sand with the grain, never against it.
